Flights

It's not too far to go for your love of snow and the resorts of the French Alps are probably the nearest and easiest to reach. There are a variety of ways to get here, air still probably being the quickest, excessive customs controls notwithstanding! 

With a wide range of flights to many different airports near the French Alps, it can be very quick (1 hour 15 mins from London airports), as well as convenient as many regional UK airports now also offer low cost flights. Transfer times to resorts vary and the times are listed below under 'Airports & carriers'.

La Plagne Travel - Flights

Sky Scanner is a great tool that we use and we can assist you when booking your flights. A website that allows you to search for your flights from where ever you are and what ever time you wish to fly.

Transfer La Plagne

Chambery (1.5 hour transfer); the closest airport, but only a handful of carriers use it, such as SnowJet and transfers to resorts are not as well established (scheduled flights: flybe from Southampton or jet2 from Leeds-Bradfrod/Manchester).
Geneva (2.5 hours transfer); Swiss/French airport served by most low cost airlines. The preferred airport for transfers and volume low cost flights (scheduled flights: SnowJet, British Airways, easyJet, flyglobespan, BA Connect, FirstChoice, Swiss, bmi baby, jet2).   
Lyon (St. Exupery) (2.5 hours transfer); some good deals exist but transfers are more expensive than Geneva (scheduled flights: bmi, easyJet, Air France, BA Connect, bmi baby, British Airways).
Grenoble (2.5 hours transfer); again transfers to resorts are not as well established (scheduled flights: Ryanair, British Airways, FirstChoice).   
St. Etienne (3.5 hours transfer); Ryanair offer great deals to this destination with further and more expensive transfers but a good choice if Geneva and Lyon flights are unavailable or overpriced (scheduled flights: Ryanair).
Turin, Italy (4 hours transfer); the tunnel tolls between France and Italy add to the cost of the transfer and during the Winter, the passes regularly close (scheduled flights: British Airways, easyJet, Ryanair, FirstChoice).

La Plagne Travel by Helicopter

How does 20 minutes instead of 2.5 hours from the airport to the ski resort grab you? Now you're talking! If you want the thrill of a helicopter flight without burning a hole in your pocket there are also sightseeing trips available.

La Plagne Travel: Train Options

A great hassle-free way to get to resort direct is by utilising various train services; Eurostar direct from London Waterloo, the TGV (high speed) from Paris or even an overnight sleeper from Paris, all have their advantages. The train also offers the shortest transfer time from Bourg Saint Maurice station, approx 20 mins to all chalets.

London Waterloo to Paris is 3 hours and then you can either take an overnight sleeper, with your own bed, to arrive in Bourg St Maurice (20 mins from all chalets) early the next morning (allowing you to get in an extra day or two on the mountain!), or you can take the TGV (high speed train) taking about 5 hours to Bourg St Maurice. To book or find out more information, visit www.raileurope.co.uk.

Coach

Direct and cost effective coach travel from UK pick up points is available with GoByCoach or Eurolines. If you get the right service you can squeeze in an extra day on the snow!

Self-Drive

A good option for those who can't decide what to bring! With almost limitless luggage and your own transport within resort, arriving by car can be a useful option. The route through France is relatively straight-forward and mostly on motorways, but please remember that you may well need snow-chains when you hit the Alps and experience of driving in snow is highly recommended.

Please be aware that the Mont Blanc tunnel is not open in the Winter.

Please also be aware that we do not have private parking facilities for guests, however there is free outdoor parking close to all of the chalets.
